Personalised wristbands
Preventing patient identification errors is an essential factor in medical best practice. Although incidents are rare and usually detected in good time, such ‘wrong-patient events’ can result in mistreatment and have potentially serious consequences.
The solution? Personalised wristbands! Konica Minolta’s laser-printable wristbands mean errors such as treating the wrong patient or providing the wrong therapy are now completely outdated. Wristband printing is an efficient way of improving both your patient management and your operational performance.
Solutions
LaserBand
With Konica Minolta laser printers, patient wristbands and chart labels can be printed on a single sheet, allowing information to be printed quicker and streamlining patient hospitalisation workflows.
Key Features
Konica Minolta’s wristband printing options let healthcare facilities provide patients with better care. Any medical personnel and physicians in attendance can easily identify the patient and prescribe the correct treatment according to the patient’s chart and lab tests, while caregivers can simply scan the barcode on the wristband to access the patient’s information. LaserBand wristbands can be printed in A4 format or as a sheetlet, making it a more cost-effective solution. A single A4 sheet contains one wristband with 20 chart labels. These are printed simultaneously, simplifying patients’ ID processes.

Integration into Hospitals information system
Software
Variable data as patient name, date of birth, case number etc. is controlled and printed directly from the hospitals information system (HIS).A new printing form is created by the IT specialist of the hospital; which is as simple as the maintenance or adaption of an existing form, e.g. to print patients check list labels. Like this a direct print of patient data from the system onto the wristband is possible, including conversion into barcode or QR code. From experience, the integration of patient wristbands is not much time consuming.
