  • Konica Minolta selected for the 2023 CDP Supplier Engagement Leader

    02 May 2024

Konica Minolta, Inc. (Konica Minolta) has been selected for the 2023 CDP Supplier Engagement Leader in the Supplier Engagement Rating for the fourth consecutive year by CDP, an international not-for-profit organisation working to achieve a sustainable economy.

Supplier Engagement Rating assesses how effectively companies are working with suppliers on climate change issues based on the companies’ responses to selected questions. Of all the companies that responded, top companies are selected as Supplier Engagement Leaders. In fiscal 2023, more than 23,000 companies around the world, worth two thirds of the total global market capitalisation, disclosed their environmental data, and 458 companies including 109 Japanese companies were recognised as Supplier Engagement Leaders.

Konica Minolta’s suppliers decarbonisation activities

Konica Minolta promotes carbon neutrality across the entire supply chain with many years of experience and efficiency through DX, and Konica Minolta, together with suppliers, aims to bring greater value to society.

The CDP recognition is the result of Konica Minolta’s proactive collaboration with its suppliers to support them with environmental technologies and expertise that help them to reduce their environmental impact, particularly their CO2 emissions and subsequently increase the use of renewable energy sources. Konica Minolta has developed this knowledge through its own environmental impact reduction activities at its production sites.

About CDP

CDP is a global non-profit that runs the world’s environmental disclosure system for companies, cities, states and regions. Founded in 2000 and working with more than 740 financial institutions with over $136 trillion in assets, CDP pioneered using capital markets and corporate procurement to motivate companies to disclose their environmental impacts, and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, safeguard water resources and protect forests. In 2023, more than 23,000 companies worth two thirds of global market capitalisation, and over 1,100 cities, states and regions, disclosed data through CDP. Fully TCFD aligned, CDP holds the largest environmental database in the world, and CDP scores are widely used to drive investment and procurement decisions towards a zero carbon, sustainable and resilient economy. CDP is a founding member of the Science Based Targets initiative, We Mean Business Coalition, The Investor Agenda and the Net Zero Asset Managers initiative.
